BALOO Training

Parents and Den Leaders,
The Bay Area Council will be providing Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) Training on Saturday, March 5 at the First United Methodist Church on FM517. The last day to sign up is February 29. I want to encourage our parents to take this training. BSA will discuss everything from tents and sleeping bags to planning the campout and holding the campfire. This is a great opportunity for adults who are new to camping to learn how the BSA holds a campout. I also recommend it to all den leaders because of the emphasis on camping skills for rank requirements. Additionally, I want to emphasize that in order for the Pack to hold a campout, BSA requires that we have at least one adult leader who is Baloo-trained. So the more people who take the course, the more flexibility we have with campouts. The training costs $15.
